GroundTruth Water, Wetlands and Environmental Engineering
GroundTruth provides miniSASS training courses and miniSASS kits for teachers, environmental educators, NGO's or anyone with an interest in river health monitoring or environmental education.
Water Research Commission
The WRC, Department of Water affairs formed a strategic relationship with GroundTruth forming the miniSASS instructural DVD, covering a range of different topics including how to collect a miniSASS sample.
The Water Research Comission also has a Learners initiative where there are various resources available for learners and teachers. You can look at the Career guide, lesson plans for Learners Grade R- 10 and a special Water Kidz Articles.
ORASECOM
The Orange-Senqu River Commission (ORASECOM) was established in 2000 by Botswana. Lesotho, Namibia and South Africa, which share the water resources of the Orange-Senqu River Basin. The Commission provides a forum for consultation, sharing of information and cooperation between the countries. Through the UNDP-GEF project support is provided to the development of the Orange–Senqu River Learning Box – an educational tool for 10–12-year-old learners.
Wildlife and Environment Society of South Africa
WESSA offers Eco-Schools, which are all over South Africa, and various Environmental Education strategies and guidelines. It is involved with projects around river health and environmental education. Click for the South African Eco-Schools Programme.
WESSA Share- Net
WESSA Share-Net is an innovative informal networking project. It supports environmental education through the provision of resource materials. Resources available including teachers guides, miniSASS and picture buliding activities and many more publications for environmental education.

Global Environment Facility - United Nations Development ProgrammeThe Global Environment Facility (GEF) is today the largest public funder of projects to improve the global environment. The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) help build nations that can withstand crisis, and drive and sustain growth that improves the quality of life for everyone. The GEF, through UNDP, is executing the Orange-Senqu Strategic Action Programme that addresses threats to shared water resources in the Orange-Senqu River Basin. |
